Description | VVI CZECRIN (Large Research Infrastructure CZECRIN) is a distributed infrastructure in the field of non-commercial clinical studies, which was established by a decision of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in 2014 and represented a robust and key infrastructure that has a unique network including most well-known clinical workplaces with an orientation to clinical research and provides expert, research, production and implementation capacities in the field of research and development of medicines, medical devices, and technologies. The mission of VVI CZECRIN is to support and implement clinical biomedical research on the national and European levels and the use of its results in real clinical practice with a direct impact on patients. The CZECRIN infrastructure represents the Czech national node of the pan-European research infrastructure ECRIN-ERIC, which connects clinically oriented research capacities in the Czech Republic with the research and application sphere in Europe and the world. Like other clinical research infrastructures within ECRIN-ERIC, VVI CZECRIN does not have the status of a legal entity, and the host institution is Masaryk University Brno. VVI CZECRIN also focuses on new areas with a significant socio-economic impact, such as pharmacoeconomics and its connection to the results of clinical evaluations. It also has a unique capacity and expertise to support the translation of new technologies into clinical practice, i.e., the ability to help create from the results of basic research products to be used in treatment. The essential role of VVI CZECRIN is also in the field of education and methodical leadership within the CZECRIN Academy. CZECRIN's comprehensive strategy with a vision characterized by the motto: "...towards patient-oriented medicine" supports national and international cooperation in clinical research to benefit patients, citizens, and healthcare.
