Description Technical texts differ from texts of other functional styles primarily in their precise structuring and in their inner and outer "textuality", i.e. interweaving within their own text and with other texts. These differences can be quantified well using language corpora. Learners of (foreign) technical languages can also discover these structures themselves. In a comparison of quantitative and qualitative corpus data, it is shown how specialized texts in the field of architecture and construction differ from general language internet texts. These differences served as a basis for autonomous learning with corpus data. Such activities were embedded in the modules of the SEAH learning platform.
