Description By analysing some recent studies focusing on this approach, we are interested in the place that researchers give to translation in language didactics, the objectives they had set for their own research and the methods used. Our attention will also be focused on the topic of mediation, one of the possible approaches in the teaching of legal French in the present day, put on an equal footing with the other three language skills by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment. Companion Volume with New Descriptors (2018). The advantages and disadvantages of pedagogical translation and mediation in the teaching of reading comprehension are discussed and compared within the framework of courses developed according to the methods of FOS didactics.
