Description | The technology for ink adhesion improvement of large-area printing on metallic substrates with polymer layer used activation by atmospheric pressure plasma. A standard printing machine using ordinary ink was utilised by plasma source. The plasma source activated the area right before UV digital printing. Improved properties of large-area flat surfaces were achieved by homogeneous activation by low-temperature plasma. The plasma was generated by a freestanding plasma module implemented with a special type of DCSBD discharge unit with air cooling. The DCSBD was moved contactless at a precise distance above the substrate. |
