| Description | Hereditary arrhythmias are diseases with a family history of malignant ventricular arrhythmias and sudden death. A specific feature of these diseases is the absence of structural pathology of the heart. In these syndromes, mutations in genes encoding the structure of cardiac ion channels or various associated proteins are the basis for the formation of an arrhythmogenic substrate. Therefore, they are sometimes referred to as ion channel diseases - channelopathies. |
