Description | We focus on 1) the beliefs and practices of pre-service teachers with regard to working with student diversity during their practicum at lower-secondary schools, and 2) the ways their thinking and behaviour is shaped by the realized curriculum of selected courses at university. We build on multi-sited ethnogra- phy which focuses on associations between related environments with regard to the phenomenon under scrutiny. We demonstrate that the pre-service teach- ers oscillate between addressing individual educational needs of “conspicuous” students and working with the whole class. They do not use strategies which are promising in addressing the educational needs of each individual student. |
