Description Arterial stiffness (ArSt) describes a loss of arterial wall elasticity and it is an independent predictor of cardiovascular events1. A cardiometabolic-based chronic disease (CMBCD)2 model integrates concepts of adiposity-based chronic disease(ABCD)3, dysglycemia-based chronic disease (DBCD)4, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). We hypothesized that compared to traditional adiposity and dysglycemia classifiers, complication-centric ABCD and DBCD models will detect more people with high ArSt, using the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI).
