Description The papers are a pilot study. We have addressed 20 children aged 10 (7 boys and 13 girls), pupils of elementary schools in Nová Dubnica, Slovak Republic. By using the questionnaire method we surveyed their pastime and possible differences between boys and girls as long as leisure time activities are concerned. Boys spend their free time prevailingly by watching television, most boys (35%) answered that they watch television 2 hours a day. Equal number of girls (35%) spend 2 hours a day by the computer and 40% of girls spend 1 hour a day watching TV. None of the children reported that he/she would devote their leisure time to sport. When answering the question about sport significance, 6 boys out of 7 claimed that sport is very important for them. The same answer was also given by majority of girls (69.2% of girls).
