Citation
Description The aim of this study was to find contexts between self-determined motivation and training load in elite athletes in team sports. There were 304 participants in the study aged between 10 – 19 (M = 15,3, SD = 2,14). Findings indicated that amotivation and training load were positively linked and all types of intrinsic motivation were linked negatively. Furthermore we have found gender differences between training load and types of motivation. Girls reported higher level of overload than boys. Significant main effect between male and female athletes were found also between types of motivation, boys reported higher level of external regulation than girls. The results bring new empirical findings and support another approach to study contexts between motivation and training load.
