Description Decrease in density and changes in morphology of tobacco suspension BY-2 were observed from 3rd day of cultivation under 1000 ug/l diclofenac (DCF). Decrease by up to 50% in density was found under 5000 and 10000 ug/l DCF. Acute toxicity to BY-2 cells was proved already after 1 hour of exposure at 100 ug/l DCF, after 2 hours the dead cell count correlated with the concentration range except for 1000 ug/l DCF. The obtained results show that cell viability should be monitored within the first 3 days of culture, and the density of the cell suspension within 5 days (the exponential phase).
