Description Fine Al2O3 and ZrO2 submicron powders were activated in atmospheric pressure air by a coplanar dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) and studied for its impact on ceramic wet processing. Performed thorough analysis of activated surfaces (FTIR, XPS, thermoluminescence TG and TDS) pointed out the importance of DBD originated molecular gases adsorbed of the powders surface.
