Description	The aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign, expansile and osteolytic lesion of bone found in the methaphyses of long bones, vertebrae and flat bones. It is composed of numerous blood-filled cavities separated by fibrous connective tissue septa with osteoclasts and reactive osteogenesis. This erosive lesion accounts for about 6 % of all tumoral bone lesions. In 80 % of cases, it occurs in individuals younger than 20 years of age. In about 30 % of the cases, particularly in adults, ABC co-exists with primary tumor. Up to 30 % of ABC occur in spine and sacrum. Usually arise in neural arch and in 75-90 % extend into vertebral body; this may result in a pathological fracture of the body or, when present in the vertebral arches, in neurological symptoms.
