Description The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of atmospheric pressure plasma on carbon-steel plate in order to increase its adhesion to rubber blend. Experiments were carried out using Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge (DCSBD) operating at atmospheric pressure in an ambient air at room temperature at different power and frequency of supplied high voltage. The effect of DCSBD treatment on surface properties was quantified by measuring water contact angle and determining the surface free energy. The evaluation of surface modification as a function of treatment time and measurement of ageing effect were also done.
