Description Nutrition must respect fundamental knowledge of the quantity and composition of essential nutrients - proteins, fats and carbohydrates, but also the latest opinions on possible short-term substitution of proteins for carbohydrates in modern nutrition. One has to remember the principles of rational and alternative nutrition and approach those methods critically, particularly in sport. An important part of nutrition is the fluid intake, controlled by the hypothalamic centres of water lost by perspiration as a result of thermoregulation and diuresis, but also the salts and particularly the Na+ a K+ electrogenic ions therein which serve for keeping the biopotentials. Today, macrobiotic diet and alternative methods of nutrition are frequently discussed - vegetarianism as the most famous and frequent form of alternative nutrition, but also other branches: veganism, lacto-vegetarianism, semi-vegetarianism, vitarianism, pesco-vegetarianism, pollo-vegetarianism and fruitarianism.
