Description This article introduces new findings related to methodology of snowboard ride in beginners, especially to the issue of snowboard stance. Correct or incorrect choice of the front leg at the very beginning of training can significantly influence the whole process of motor learning. The research based on the sample of 120 snowboarders has determined which of the commonly used tests (gliding test, determination of the take-off leg test, imbalance step test, kicking leg test or scooter ride stance test) can state best which leg should be the front one. Based on the results, it is recommended to determine the stance on snowboard as a result of test combination especially with the test of gliding stance which can relatively reliably determine which snowboard stance is suitable for each individual.
