| Description | The article brings a literary view on myopathies as a manifestation of statins side effect or intensive muscular activity. The article contains a summary of relevant causes, pathogenic processes, diagnostic methods and therapeutic strategy. This combination of the statin effect and the endurance performance entails a higher risk of muscular damage. We recommend to athletes and their doctors to warily consider about the statin using as well as about the endurance exercise or race. At the long-distance athletes their fatigue and other myopathy risk factors should be eliminated. |
