| Description | The problem with comprehensive information on the prevalence of the metabolic syndrome (MetSy) is different methodology of individual studies and inconsistent definitions. Methodology of prevalence studies of MetSy are linked to a particular territory or nationally representative sample. Increase in prevalence is closely related to the increase in prevalence of obesity, diabetes and hypertension have a significant effect. Prevalence affect differences in genetics, diet, physical activity level, age, and gender and the influence of sedentary lifestyles, an aging population and increasing obesity is increasing worldwide. |
