| Description | In recent years intensive research in the Lower Dyje region has yielded the largest assembly of medieval lost coins from the Czech lands so far. Originating from what can be regarded as a "productive site", in terms of the number of coins and other metal finds it is on a par with well-known sites in Germany and England. The quantity of the coins amassed to this day is representative to such an extent that we can conceive, on this basis, a fairly clear idea of the monetisation of the south of Moravia in the period from the 10th to the beginning of the 13th century. |
