Description Principal social changes and the break down of socialism of pro-Soviet type in the Czechoslovak Socialist Federative Republic on 17 November 1989, significantly changed the whole society. The changes in the whole society started immediately after November 1989 projecting also into the sport movement. Most of the institutions started to democratise themselves quickly and spontaneously. There was a rapid development and significant structural changes in the sport movement. It had to adapt to new social conditions, market environment, business and the open professionalization of sport.
