Description Gymnastic disciplines have been occurring in the physical education lessons for several centuries, although the form of gymnastic exercises was very different from the today´s one. Despite this long tradition we feel that the gymnastic disciplines slowly disappear from physical education lessons, especially exercising on equipment. We think this because of decreasing level of gymnastic skills of applicants who want to study physical education at the Faculty of Sports Studies, and the related need of reducing the complexity credit requirements for bachelor degree students. Therefore using a questionnaire survey we decided to find out 106 what the teacher´s relationship to gymnastic is and what gymnastic equipment they use in their lessons. There were also included questions about the popularity of gymnastic exercises for pupils in the questionnaire.
