| Description | The article is focused on empirical evidence the applicability of the Altman Z-index in Czech Republic (hereinafter CR) conditions. The goal of the article is to compare its explanatory power with Czech standardized bankruptcy model IN 05 and with the two new created (alternative) bankruptcy models, especially designed for conditions of the Czech Republic. The database used (Bisnode Česká republika, 2010) contains all the available data of Czech companies. The time horizon results compared is 2 and 5 years before bankruptcy of the firm. Based on the result comparison with standardized bankruptcy models the two new models are equivalent in one case (FLKp model) and significantly better in the second case (CZ model). |
