Description | This research was aimed at characterizing transduction of mobile genetic elements in methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus. In this work it has been proved that bacteriophages efficiently transferred antibiotic resistance and virulence genes between clinical S. aureus strains. Furthermore, successful transduction was performed using prophages of lysogenic laboratory and clinical strains. |
