Description | The book deals with adult education in the Czech republic in various stages of life cycle. It brings a detailed view on the topic that has not been explored sufficiently in the Czech republic yet. The book consists of two parts. The first one has six chapters that deal with formal (3rd chapter), non-formal (4th ch.) and informal ( 5th ch.) forms of adult education. Apart from that, there is also an introductory one placing Czech adult education into the European context of education policy, and one chapter giving the basic theoretical and methodological grounds of the analyses of empirical data presented in the book. Final chapter of the first part (6th ch.) describes barriers of Czech adult education. The second part consists of eight chapters dealing with particular parts of adult education: occupational education (7th ch.), education in ICT, (8th ch.) leisure-time education (9th ch.), civic adult education (10th ch.), parental education (11th ch.),environmental adult education (12th ch.), adult education of the elderly (13th ch.). The final chapter (14th) deals with counseling and adult education. One of important aims of this book was also to confront Czech political statements and programs about adult education with the everyday reality. |
