The University Sports Centre provides compulsory physical education for day students across all faculties of Masaryk University, with the exception of those majoring in the Faculty of Sports Studies.

The primary goals of the compulsory physical education program include:
  • Supporting the acquisition of new movement skills,
  • Encouraging physical activity,
  • Offering opportunities to try new sports or activities,
  • Compensating for sedentary lifestyles during the semester,
  • Promoting mental relaxation,
  • Increasing fitness levels,
  • Enhancing understanding of the benefits of physical activity on the body,
  • Facilitating social connections through meeting new people.

Additionally, the University Sports Centre aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness about the benefits of regular physical activity among students, staff, and the general public. In conjunction with compulsory physical education classes, the Centre organizes special sports events for Masaryk University students and employees, such as MUNI Day. Furthermore, the Centre collaborates closely with the Centre of Lifelong Learning of the Faculty of Sports Studies at MU, which offers fee-based exercise programs for students, employees, and the public, as well as weekend retreats in Luhačovice and other activities. As a member of the Czech Association of University Sports, the Centre participates in organizing both championship and non-championship competitions for university students and collaborates with the National Sports Agency.
