Description The authors subjected to spiroergonometric examination a group of 155 children previously treated for a malignant tumour at The First Paediatric Clinic of the Faculty St. Ann Hospital in Brno, treated at present at the First Paediatric and Oncological Clinic of the CHildrens Faculty Hospital in Brno. The respose and adaptation to a physical load was investigated by bicykle spiroergometry at the Clinic of Functional Diaagnostics and Spors Medicine in Brno. The majority of examined parameters was within a normal range. Only the performance per 1 kg body weight was reduced, as well as the maximal minute oxygen consumption per 1 kg body weight and the maximal minute cosumption of oxygen compared with the mean value for the population - the reduction being to less than 80%. No differences were found between different diagnostic groups. Evidence was provided that the children are capable to cope with found between different diagnostic groups. Evidence was provided that the children are capable to cope with a greater physical load than they are permitted.
